Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.

Do I need an FCC license for two-way radios?
Yes, most business-grade two-way radios require an FCC license. This applies to UHF and VHF radios used for commercial purposes. The FCC issues licenses by frequency, and the process is straightforward. We can help guide you through the application. Note: FRS (Family Radio Service) radios used for personal, short-range communication do not require a license.
How long does a radio repair usually take?
Many repairs are completed the same day, especially if parts are in stock. More complex repairs or those requiring special-order parts may take 3–5 business days. We'll give you a free estimate with a time frame before starting any work, and you can use a free loaner radio in the meantime.
Do you offer free estimates on repairs?
Absolutely. Every repair estimate is free with no obligation. Just bring your equipment to our shop or call us to describe the issue. We'll diagnose the problem and give you an honest quote before doing any work.
Can I rent radios for a short-term event?
Yes! We offer short-term radio rentals for events, construction projects, and any temporary communication need. We've equipped events like the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta with hundreds of radios on short notice. Contact us with your dates and quantity, and we'll put together a rental package.
What brands of radios do you sell and service?
We're an authorized dealer for Kenwood and carry Motorola products as well. We service most major radio brands regardless of where they were purchased. We also stock a full range of accessories: batteries, antennas, speaker mics, chargers, and cases.
Do you install security cameras at homes or just businesses?
Both! We install security camera systems, access control, and alarm systems for both residential and commercial properties across New Mexico. Every installation starts with a free site survey where we assess your property and design a custom solution for your specific needs and budget.
What areas do you serve?
We're headquartered in Albuquerque and serve all of New Mexico. Our most common service areas include Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, Belen, Socorro, Las Cruces, and surrounding communities. For installations or on-site service outside the Albuquerque metro, please call to discuss logistics.
